Kevin Otey has built his reputation as a leading builder in the Triad are of North Carolina on his experience as a respected framer. His 30 years of experience taught Kevin that quality must be integral in home construction from the ground up. “The frame is literally the heart of the house,” he explains. “When a house is properly framed, the sheetrock will hang correctly, trim and molding are square and tight, and insulation can be properly installed to create an energy-efficient home.” Kevin spends a lot of time on each job site making sure that his sub-contractors are providing the superior craftsmanship people expect with an Otey home.
Just as the frame is the heart of the house, Kevin Otey is the heart of Otey Construction. Kevin has made superior customer service a cornerstone of Otey Construction. “Promises made, promises kept is more than a motto,” he stresses. “It is the pledge that drove our company from day one, and we are proud that it continues to be the way we do business today.” Kevin believes the homeowner's relationship with Otey Construction is essential to their satisfaction with the end results. He listens to the needs of his clients and approaches each home with a clear understanding of the homeowner's requirements.
Otey Construction partnered with WXII-12 and TL Concepts to build the 2009 Concept Home. Tour proceeds benefited the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Otey Construction is a member of the Greater Greensboro Builders Association, and a Parade of Homes winner for the past several years. Kevin and his team have constructed homes in many fine neighborhoods in the Triad from $300,000 and up.
Karen Otey found an early love for construction growing up in New England. While her friends were watching Tom & Jerry, she was captivated by Bob Villa. Her journey in the real estate industry began in 1998, as a second-generation licensed REALTOR -- a career that opened doors into the custom home building industry.
Today, Karen collaborates closely with her husband at Otey Construction, Inc., actively involved in every facet of the business. Drawing upon her 25 years of experience in residential home sales and land brokerage, she founded Otey Homes and Land, LLC. This venture seamlessly combines her expertise in custom home building with her extensive knowledge of real estate and land transactions.
OUR BUILDING PROCESS
Hands-on craftsmen build every home with careful attention to detail, and every project is monitored for on-time completion. To make the building process smooth, all Otey customers receive a “To Do List” with a timeline of dates for selections, where to go to make them, and the representatives they need to see. “This takes the pressure off the customer,” Kevin says, “and helps us keep the promise of ‘On Time Completion.’ And we have not missed a completion date yet!”
